On the heels of its recent aquisition of Pandora, satellite radio behemoth SiriusXM is adding more than 100 curated music channels to the streaming platform, its biggest unloading yet.

The new, commercial-free "Xtra Channels" are available exclusively to SiriusXM All Access and SiriusXM Premier Streaming subscribers (and all SiriusXM trialers) on the SiriusXM app, web player and select connected devices. Throughout March, subscribers can also preview some of the new channels by tuning into SiriusXM Spotlight (channel 4) on SiriusXM radios in their cars.

New channels -- which feature skip-ahead functionality -- include everything from "80s on 8 Workout" to "Prime Country Party" and "BPM Top Hits." There's also a new Discovery category, which features channels curated by the taste-making programmers behind SiriusXM Hits 1, The Highway, Alt Nation and The Heat. 

"With more than 100 new commercial-free channels to choose from, SiriusXM is offering even more variety for our subscribers," says Steve Blatter, senior vp and general manager for music programming at the broadcaster. "The new channels have the DNA of current SiriusXM channels that our subscribers love, but offered in a variety of new versions that fit listeners’ tastes, moods and activities. We have also developed channels that satisfy the demand for combining SiriusXM channels together into exciting new curated experiences. These new channels are sure to make our streaming service even more attractive and valuable to our listeners.”

The new Xtra Channels bring the total count on the broadcaster's app up to more than 300 channels. SiriusXM finalized its $3.5 billion purchase of Pandora earlier this month. At the same time, it was announced that Pandora CEO Roger Lynch, along with several other execs, would be stepping down from the company, positioning SiriusXM CEO Jim Meyer at the helm of both companies.
